How to start a Routine

How to start a Routine

If you are reading this then it is most probable that you are annoyed of your bad routine. You are constantly try to get rid of waking up late, or not having problem complying with your time table. Surely it is you who can make a difference but you need a guideline for that, here are some steps that I came up with after researching for a best plan to get on to a routine.
Time table
Having a time table will keep a track of your daily routine. Time table will help you, whether or not you are keeping up with routine. Be meticulous while making a time table. Have flexibility in your plans, leave gaps for unintended interruptions like traffic jams or sudden visit by a friend.
Think of end in mind
The key to stick to a routine is thinking of end in mind whenever you start something. Most of daily chores don’t take much time but things like watching TV, Facebook/twitter, movies or television shows are time taking endlessly. So always think of how much time you are going to be online when you sat on Facebook.
Reminders
Reminders are necessary when you start at first. Use reminders of different kinds. You can set alarm on your cell phone, whenever you start something and need to know when to end. Try integrating reminders to your daily life, like adding sticky notes. You can add sticky notes to things to which you refer a lot, like a refrigerator, a mirror or the exit door.
First three days are important
The first three days of your start are very important. In these three days you make it or break it. Comply with the time table or routine you want to follow in the first three days. Be strict with yourself making no space for excuse or procrastination.
Say no to procrastination
Remember procrastination always leads to procrastination and this endless spiral of procrastination never ends. Delete the word procrastination from your mind, if you want to have a routine.
Daily checks
Have a diary or calendar to which you add how much you complied with your routine. Mark clearly when you skipped a day or missed you daily goal. This will motivate you to keep up.
